Anyone know if any resin caster is doing or has done a 58 Edsel 4-door hardtop?

Not that I am aware of. Although, you COULD send Doc (MkowaPhD) two AMT Edsel kits, spot putty, some Miracle-Gro Hair Tonic and some kibble for Mongo and see what happens....

Sounds like a natural for a transkit using the AMT 58 Edsel, and I wouldn't mind seeing 59's and 60s setup to use the AMT kit for parts as well, especially a 59 wagon like my dad had!

If you don't mind doing some extra work, Hendrix Resin (from Resin Realm) makes a '59 Ford four door that you could use for the roof. It might work. You would have to rescribe doorlines and other details like that.

That roofline you mentioned would depend on what model Edsel he wanted to build. For '58........the '59 Ford roofline would be closer to a Corsair which was based on a Mercury body. Different windshield frame and all. The Ertl kit is a Pacer which is more akin to the '58 Ford body.
Modelhaus makes a '58 Mercury Parklane which would have the correct roof for a Citation/Corsair (body only he can sell separately), but then there's that daunting task of hacking the roof off a resin body and adapting it to the plastic one.
Then there's the lovely task of lengthening the chassis and lower body because the Mercury based Edsel's were longer.
