Well, here's my version of Kurt Busch's 2012 COT car driven at Talladega. The kit started out as Dale Earnhardt, Jr's #88 2010 Chevy Impala kit.
I added missing bars from the rollcage, wired the ignition modules, used a resin nose for the car, and used decals by Stoney's Customs.
The kids have been wanting me to build this for a while, so they're happy that it's done.

I think it was the Mobay piece - got it from Mike's Decals

So was this an actual car that was raced or just a model build based off of the movie?

It was actually raced at Talladega in 2012. From what I understand, Kurt had to get approvals from lots of people to use the scheme. My favorite part of the race is when one of the announcers said, "Oh, I've been wanting to say this all night: And Ricky Bobby takes the lead!"
