Yep, the second pic was built from the hardtop snap-tite.

Latest I saw on the dealer side of the Revell site, they are saying May '14 now. Of course that could change at any time.

Hope that Revell (or someone else?) eventually does a '56 Bel Air 2 door hardtop and/or convertible one of these days!    The '56 never seems to get the same respect as the '55 or '57s, but in my opinion, it's the best looking of the tri-five Chevys.   That it's never been done in 1/25th scale, nor correctly in 1/24th scale, either, should make it a good seller.

And, re: a new tool '55 Nomad, even though it's been done before, AMT's still decent selling '55 Nomad is in dire need of an update, as it has accuracy issues, and the drivetrain, chassis, wheels/tires, & interior are definitely examples of how kits used to be done (since the original release is now almost 50 yrs old!).   I bet that if Revell did a new '55 Nomad, that AMT's kit would quietly fade away, as seems to be the case when Revell brought out their superior '32 & '40 Ford kits.

Revell's '55 Bel Air 2 door hardtop has never looked quite correct to me, as that they had obviously used some of the tooling from their diecast model; and, the separate pieces for the side chrome that fit into recesses in the body sides, especially, looks clunky to me.    (but, they handled that 'feature' much more accurately on their '59 Impalas).

As for Revell doing a 150, 210, or Bel Air 2 door wagon, for any of the tri-five Chevy's, it would be terrific, but unlikely. . .

And, although I've never been a fan of any '57 Chevys (except the '57 Vette), Revell should consider doing an accurate '57 Nomad, as they're old tool '57s were simply awful, but still not quite as bad as Monogram's cartoon-like 1/24th scale '56 Bel Air hardtop!

Well, I think all is in the tittle, looking at all the site I know, I couldn't get a date of release for this model kit, seems it's the last new kit of 2013 not to be in production....

Not on Revell's projected release schedule just yet.  Could be sometime in the summer of 2014.

There were threads on the '57 last year...sounds like Revell delayed the release to correctly tool the chassis.

It looks like they based it off the 2 dr sedan  kit instead of the hardtop.

Kind of looks like they just cut the top off the sedan. The top of the door is straight without the swoop like the convertible/ hardtop.

That's going to render the kit useless for anything but a custom.

Can anyone who saw the body shell at MASScar can confirm if the beltline has the correct dip or not now?

Oh man.  That's a problem.

I'd rather just raid the x-brace from a '55 hardtop, long as Revell used the delay to fix that issue.

You might guess Revell hacked a sedan just to mock something up, but it looks like we have new door panels inside that match the beltline...

I always thought the upper part of the windshield crown on the '55 hardtop didn't appear right to me. It appears a bit too rounded compared to pics I have of the 1:1's. The convertible's windshield frame seems to suffer from this same malady. Of course, I'm particular about this sort of thing! :P

Also the pic shown of the upcoming '57 convertible's beltline appears correct to me.........I'd like to have the kit in 3D though as we all know that pics can be deceiving.

It has a late July release date.  Some shops having the RPP program will have it in advance of distribution.

Boxart shows the wrong body still. Wonder if they bothered to fix the chassis.

The LHS had a couple in stock, picked one up today...looks good at first glance.  Stock wheel covers and steelies w/ tires w/ whitewall inserts, choice of stock rear bumper or continental kit bumper.  Separate chrome windshield frame like the '55.  Chassis X-brace is separate. Choice of single or dual carbs, uptop and boot.   May have to get another, do one stock and one as a period street machine or custom.
