The AMT '62 Chevy convertible has the best accessorized 409 in kit form, in my opinion. It's the Offy finned valve covers that make it tops, which are absent from the other '62 kits. They're simply killer, and capture the "look" much better than any of the others available.
Still, this is looking great. Look forward to seeing more.

Two. The '57 only has a small block. The AMT and Revell '62 Chevys 409s are much better though.

@ Niko..decal on the fan belt..fan clutch.carb linkage..generator brackets...GORGEOUS !

Heh, thanx James. The kit offers decals to the Fan Belt, two decals for the Generator, one for the Oil Breather Tube (can't be seen in that picture) and the Valve Cover Decals. It really is excellent kit. Of course it's very fun to build, too because of the parts count and nicely molded parts.

Ouch, just noticed mold seam in this picture....Gotta Fix that one.
That's why I take a ton of pictures as I build. I see more defects in pictures (especially once published on the boards) than I see in person!

The Chevy belair 409 kit has the 409 in it. The only external difference on all the W motors is the dipstick location and inlet manifolds.
It not noticeable on our scale, but the other difference is there is an X cast in the block (raised) under the passenger side cylinder head, it's about two inches tall & quite prevalent on the full size engines.

Just a little update..
Wagons are also known as Grocery Getters....soooo...
Bottles are scrap clear sprue and the chip bags were a fellow club member donation(thanks Gene).
Local grocery store name is Martin's..used Woodland Scenics rub on letters for the name.

Your Nomad is looking great. I really like the work you did on the interior and engine.
The groceries add some very nice detail.
