Well guys heres the start of my 65 AWB Dodge. Gonna be Dick Landy car. Saoked it in bleachwhite for a few days. Got it all cleaned up and putting a coat of primer on it now. Im new to this resin thing so it should be interesting!

Im not sure. I bought 2 of them off a guy on ebay and he said he bought them like 4 years ago and couldnt remember. Nothing anywhere to tell either. But from what i can see it loks like it. Seems to be very good quality. First time ive ever worked with it.

So are these AWB cars supposed to have straight axels or just a standard k member? Cant seem to really find any pics.........Joe

You need to do research on the front ends. Some used stock front end. Some removed the K members (less common) while some used straight axles (from the Dodge A100 like the Little Red Wagon) with the stock K members.

Joe, All of the original Factory backed cars, had  the K-members moved forward. There were a large number of independent racers,

mmmmmm, Sourdough Nibblers., umm oh yeah, What you have is the Speed City Resin kit, it is made to be used with the parts from the Lindberg 64 Dodge Super Stock kits. That kit has everything you will need, except if you go with injection.

yep i have about 8 of those kits on hand!

In my diggings. I think it was when the private teams/owners started modifiyng there own cars for the AFX class is when I think the straight axles started showing up. I don't remember ever seeing any pics of the Landy 65 car with a straight axle under it.

 

'ALL' of the factory built cars were moved ft and rear suspension retaining the K-frame control arm layout.

 

PS,all the factory built cars were hardtops, Most (but not all ) of the private built cars were sedans

I have the Ross Gibson Hillborn injected Hemi im using for this kit. Id like to get some taller injestion stacks for it. Anyone know wher i can get some?....Joe

If you notice on most Mopar drag cars that still retained the leaf springs, as in the "Super Stock springs" they rarely if almost never used a traction aid other than a pinion snuber. That setup is still very effective to this very day.......

That is not a Speed city casting as the Speed City casting has the door frame .

My guess is it is a MCW casting as it looks alot like the 65 Sedan AWB I have. I could be wrong.

Did it come with a 4 head light grille or just a 2 headlight grille?

 What wheels are you going to use if you build it as a Landy car?

 I have seen several different combos and am not sure what to go with.

 I have a cool magazine article where he is doing tire testing and the car is running Cragars.

I just looked thru all my AFX cars pictures. And I didn't find one single picture of the Landy car with a vent wing frame but every one has a frame around the door glass.

 

I DID find a few of the Sox and MArtin Paper Tiger 1 car that had the vent wing frames.

 

 

I still think this is a cool picture . If I cound find the truck cab, I might considering attempting this in scale .

And you can see in some pictures it has the blue tinted glass, and in others it has clear glass, when which was which , I have no idea.

 

I am pretty sure the car restored today has clear glass. 

 

ps, I also just noticed some pictures it has a 2 headlight grille and in some it has a 4 headlight grille.
