I can't seem to find any clear, close-up shots of the 8-3/4" rearend included with AMT's '71 Dodge Charger kits, so if anyone can take and post one, or even just provide a quick review/commentary on the rearend, it would be appreciated.

The rear in the AMT '71 Duster kit isn't very nice, so if the Charger's rear is essentially the same parts, I'll pass.

What are you looking to do with it ?

I agree with you regarding the rear axle assembly in the Duster ; it's spindly at best !

As far as the same item in the Charger : I don't recall ... I don't remember it being as weak as the one in the Duster (the driveshaft in the Charger is another story !) .

You wanna swap it into another kit ?

Yes, but I just want to find out if this one looks like the real part, or at least if it's a slight improvement over the Revell '68/9 Dart's 8-3/4" rear.

I think it''s a pretty good representation of the 8 3/4, I haven't compared it to the 1:1 unit (yet) but just eyeballing it and being up close & personal with the one under my Fury it looks good to me. Hopefully these pictures help.

Perfect, Nick, thank you. I thing I can combine the Charger housing and the Dart carrier and differential "cover" plate to make what I want.  :)
