Absolutely stunning build...gorgeous paint, great attention to detail, but what else would you expect from a master builder like Donn Yost?

Hey , Gang ! Thanks so much for the compliments , I greatly appreciate them !

Revell ' 49 Merc , built as a curbside ( I was all detailed out at the moment ) so I went in this direction . Paint is a custom mix of Testors enamels with a Red Russet Pearl X clear overlay . Dash and seat inserts , along with the side panels were shot with the exterior color to off set the white interior . The color was an experiment which I really love and plan to use on several future builds . You listening , Virgil ? Lol !

The taillights , side pipes , and hubcaps are the work of the immensely talented Bob Dudek ! I used the decals from the kit for the centers which just so happened to match the car's color , perfectly !

Had I painted this with the rear skirts in place , it would have been a full blown detailed build . I love the color and I'm still kicking myself for not going with the skirts in the first place ! Oh well !

Ron .... The only thing that I'm a Master of is Disaster itself ! Lmao !

Very nice build Donn. Maybe I'm missing something or don't understand. Why is Dr Cranky posting your builds if you're a member here ? It seems like you could cut out the middle man and post yourself.

Impressive!

It's quality like this that keeps me at it!

This is the standard I aspire to.
