going to be building this one at a model display our club is putting on this weekend and since there are virtually no issues regarding this kit, I've painted and decaled it already

Looks great Brett. Are those the kit decals? They don't appear to have any bleedthrough, which is great.

Nice paint job. keep it up.

Hmmmmm, very inspiring......maybe my next project. Great start, and those decals look really good.

That paint and decal job look great Brett. If those decals in this kit are this nice, maybe I wouldn't screw them up.
BTW - I just love how your nail polish matches the car's paint. Is this something you do to inspire you during the build? ![]()

thanks guys,
started the detailing, rear brakes, then plumbing / wiring the engine

paint is 3 coats of Duplicolor Metal specks one coat of a dark blue nail polish then 2 wet coats of the Duplicolor again. Wet sanded with 2000 grit wet and dry then a nice wet coat of Duplicolor clear. Decals were then applied two days later a mist then a wet coat of Tamiya clear.
I only used the nail polish as it wasnt quite dark enough imo with the Duplicolor alone.
Chris, its definitely a great kit for that, if you leave well enough alone
, getting something on the shelf that looks good is great motivation

So far so good.
Is this a Polar lights kit or the Revell ?
Looks like a PL body on a Revell chassis

Looks great Brett. All of us here in the Northeast are jealous that you're having summer now.

Dave, not to rub it in but it's been a hot (for here) dry one too ![]()
Bill, no its the Revell body, A fellow club member just finished his as I started mine and I thought the rear wheel arch cutouts looked to big so I only went about halfway on mine.
Thanks Tyrone, means a lot buddy.
I've been working on the steering box linkage assembly's so not much to show, hope to get the master cylinders drilled and the cage mounted today so hopefully a few pics later of all that.

Cool, The revell body I have on both the Hawaiian and the ChiTown Hustler are the exact same car with the offset roof hatch .
Whcih is correct for the CTH but wrong for the Hawaiian . And the Polar Lights body has the correct center hatch for this car.
Keep it up, it's looking good so far.
