I came across this when I was looking at diecast. Anyone hear of this or know its origins? Is this an AMT tool?

It isn't, but the body and interior is pretty close IIRC.

Actually it's a Testor's 1/24th scale pick-up, released about ten years ago!!

It was red on the box...and based on a rock band actual vehicle!!

It has white stripes everywhere on the body..

It was custom version only, just like the Lindberg one.

Yup, it was penned by Chip Foose and built by Hot Rods by Boyd for Eddie Van Halen...........IIRC, The model looked about right for Foose's original artwork too ;)

Almost forgot,

I don't remember on the 1/1, I think the kit is just a curbside or has an LT1 in it as well as the C4's IRS, I can't remember for sure.   I think the rest is pretty much all C-1500, just can't remember what all was done to the front end to make it what it was though.

I think 2 versions were offered of the "Boyd's Hauler"

Full glue & Curbside. The Curbside may even have been a Slammer with black-out windows and NO interior.

I did not buy any then as I was not interested in the non-stock only build

I believe they did the same on the Chezoom "57 Chevy" kit too

I built the Testors kit some time in the 90s as a kid.  It was the full detail model, and it was a very good kit.  Good to see it coming out again.

I picked up a Boyd;s Hauler opened kit at a garage sale.  I see it is a Testors kit. It loks cool.  Does anyone have any insight as to possible problems with this kit?  Thanks.

I have 3 of the Testors / Boyds kits.......A lot of work, and I have had lots of warped parts.....All the frames have been warped!
