Yes.

 

At the '56 NASCAR race at Road America they had a Saturday race for cars up to 3,500cc. Paul Goldsmith in a Jaguar Mk VII beat Jerry Walters in a Studebaker followed by Herb Thomas in a Ford Zephyr.
