My goodies just got here.  I'm gonna finish the decals in a little while.   I'll take some better pics later (all have been iPhone so far).

Came out nice Joey. All you learned from this build you can apply to the next and learn even more with each one as you go. That's what its all about brother! Keep diggin!!

As you have more questions feel free to post them and I feel everyone here will help you along, I know I will as much as I can.

Ok now it's officially done. Couldn't find the good camera, or a good back drop, but it is complete.

There are a few places that could use a little touch up, but ill save that for another day.

Nice work on what i think is not an easy paint job, i am yet to build this one due to that. Great job.

Thanks I was worried about that too, but it was a little easier than I thought. Thankfully there is a little wiggle room since the decals cover the color "seams."

I think you did an excellent job! The engine looks especially good. And when you say a few places need touch up, if you're talking about the front end, no...leave it that way! It looks realistic, like he's made a lap or two. Great job on a great looking car!

That looks great Joey! Being a Sr. fan myself, that was one of my favorite cars too. I have a collectible diecast of the "Pass in the Grass" of that car. Always wanted to build that kit. Did indeed have it at one time but when I stepped away from the hobby it went away with all my kits. I am now just getting back into the saddle again and I am revved up and ready to go. Building NASCAR kits of Dale Sr. & Dale Jr. were what I enjoyed.

Thanks!

Yeah I've got it bad again. I still have to build the other car that came with this kit but I just ordered a 95 #3 Monte Carlo and a Darrel Waltrip #17 Western Auto parts kit. The latter is an AMT kit which I've never built so we'll see how that goes.

Edit: My wife thinks I'm crazy.

I told myself when I finished Dales cars I wanted to build the (I think revell) 1950 chevy 3100 pickup. I remember doing it as a kid. Ill get to it eventually.

I just couldn't help myself when I was looking on eBay.

The one I had wasn't Texaco, but it could have been an AMT.  I think it was Revell though.

I remember it being just a stock pickup with an inline 6. It seems like the picture of it on the box it was painted black.

I could be way off, that was probably 1998. I think I said somewhere that this was my first model in 10 years but its probably really closer to 15. Time sure does fly.
