Hello again people. So this will be my latest project to add to a list of many that are unfinished. I've decided to give the 49 a rebuild after it got knocked around during the move from one side of the country to the other. Anyway, the plan is to graft on the peaked headlights and taillights from a 55 Chevy as a start plus I have a few traditional mods to add also. A roof swap could be possible but Ill see how adventurous I'm feeling after the front an rear mods first. Here are a couple of pics of what I'm starting with. Hello again guys. I've been a bit quiet with this one but I've got some progress pics to show where I'm at with it now. The 55 Chev headlights and taillights were any easy task, they flow with the 49 shape as though they were made for it!! The roof is from a 58 Chev but the rear glass will need modifying so the plan is to make it resemble the three piece rear glass from a 57 Buick. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Codie-

That has a great look to it. I can't wait to see how the lines flow when the paint gets on it.
Keep it up.

Later-

Thanks for your comments so far guys!! I'm trying to keep it looking more like a Ford than a Chev so I'm thinking Ill keep the Ford side trim rather than the 55 spears. Ill definitely be keeping the spinner in the front to keep its identity but it will be modified slightly .

Planning on putting a bow tie on it?  :)

This already looks cool Codie! I agree with getting rid of the Chevy trim. I think I would get rid of the original trim also and make your own with some small styrene half round. Maybe something along the lines of a '57 Ford 300 Custom or Fairlane 500?

Your not kidding around about being kustom. Great, original ideas...I recognize your vision, keep it going. And keep the decked stance too!
