This is one of my older builds a 1/8 scale 79 Trans-Am. I built this about 20 years ago.
It was in need of some body work, the roof and trunk was crushed badly when I bought it.

How did you upholster the seats?
Posted 04 February 2013 - 12:22 PM
Harry,
I went to the fabric store and picked out some black valor material and used some spray adhesive to glue it to the seats headliner and carpets.
Then use your fingernail or something pointed to follow the pattern in the seats.

That's the cool thing about big scale... you can add detail like seat upholstery. Well done! ![]()

Nice build!! Was this kit molded in a sort of metallic brown plastic? I have one in brown and want to paint it black. My hood is cracked a bit so I will need to repair that. I hope mine comes out half as good as your build. Patrick

Patrick,
The kit was molded in a brown metallic plastic. I don't know why it is that the bigger kits have a harder type plastic than the other scales. The plastic cracks as mine did across the front of the right roof to the back of the left quarter panel/trunk.The front
left piller was cracked in half and cracked down the drivers door. I don't know that stripping it twice with easy off may have weakened the plastic or not.I found alot of spider cracks along the rockers as well. But all said make sure that you prep the body really well and that your body work is perfect. Any imperfections will show up and stand out in black paint.
Other than that it is a nice kit to build so go all out .
