decided on a big project for the year by making my own version but tracks will be a issue do they make a working track set up?  the idea is to make this functional as possible

Yep, several companies do. Fruilmodel, Bronco,AFV Club, just the ones I could think of off the top of my head. Go to eBay and put in "workable" tracks in the military model section.

I bought some 1/25 one piece resin Matt trax off Ebay. It was a set of four. The were one piece but pretty detailed. With some careful painting they'll look really nice. It's been quite a while since I bought them. Not sure if they'll still be on Ebay or not?
