sounds like this weeks version of "storm of the century".
Good luck to all in the New England area...

The governor of the State of Massachusetts has issued a road ban .. NO cars on the road ... starting just now .. 4pm. Up to a one year prison sentence! ... and my wife is still at work. I'll bring her roses when I visit.

My daughter was born during the last one 35 yrs ago, now that's tough. The biggest issue here is losing power. Out in the rural areas where I am we have'nt upgraded equipment in over 50yrs. That's tough.
I wonder how many babies were born exactly 9 months later.

I remember the big snows we got in Colorado when I lived there...45 inches one time, stayed inside and worked from home for 3 days...stocked up on food and beer before the storm. I still have my snow shovel in my Jeep, though I don't use it much in AZ..
But will need it when I move back to a snowy climate...

Probably not..it's in my back hatch area, sort of the 'trunk' of an SUV...all sorts of junk back there-- ice scrapers, heavy winter Weather Tech rubber floor mats, air compressor, battery charger, cans of window deicer, etc...

Funny you say that Harry. About 12 years ago we went to Phoenix for Spring Break to see my Mother-in -Law and the Cubs spring training. It was 80 degrees every day in Phoenix but when we went up to the Grand Canyon, it was 28 degrees and 16 inches of snow! And we thought Chicago weather was strange! ![]()

I just looked out the door. I kinda wish I hadn't.
I'll probably go out in a little while and clear some. At least the electric snow-thrower Dad bought works pretty decent. He was able to get about four spots equivalent cleared in about ten minutes with about three or four inches on the ground.
Looking out the door, I'd say we have about 8 or 10 right now.
Mike- did your wife get home safe?

Wow. I hope you're stocked up on provisions. You might not be able to survive those frigid temps if you had to leave the house for any reason! ![]()
