Thats not what I had in mind, but since it took 15 minutes I'll give it to you, Bob! I didn't realize the Valiant was 4 door and 2 door. Any guess on the kit I was thinking of?

Absolutely no idea !   The Valiant was the first 4 dr I thought of since it's so rare ,  I don't know if the molds were actually changed .

Let's keep going for a while and see if anyone comes up with the answer .

Not so fast! As I live 9 hours away in Germany I was sleeping when you answered ;)

Don is right. The 68 Ambassador convertible was never made by AMC. My guess is that AMC told JoHan too late that they pulled the plug out of the full size convertible.

Chrysler Turbine: AFAIK 50 cars were made and tested, most of them were destroyed afterwards. There is a video that shows them being crushed....
