There were eight issues. The first issue was June 1964 and it ran monthly through January 1965. You're next.

I thought it was much later than that, but since I didnt start attending until 1964 perhaps I should rescind my question.

I remember when I first competed, so thats my reference point. I went every year from 1964 to 1989, and I believe I remember the first ( or perhaps second ) year the models showed up was when I entered. I bet Mark Townsend knows.

I found an article by Tim Boyd that mentioned a model named " Pegasus " and that it was the National Champion in 1963 but it didn't say if it was the Oakland Roadster Show .
Sorry I messed this one up .

Pegasus won the Revell National Championship in I believe 1963. The model still exists and was used atop the Revell trophies for the following year.

Vince is correct, but it was not the Contest at the Oakland Roadster Show. I pm-ed Tim Boyd to find out if I am correct.

OK 4 days us enough. To my knowledge the first year the GNRS had a model car contest was 1983. I lived in an apartment and I built an 2 entries on my coffee table while watching MTV.
Someone post up a new query!

This was a tough one. I would've had no idea who Tim was, either, had I not read the caption:

If that doesnt work I've got an "oldie" in mind
Go ahead, Glenn.

Name the famous disabled modeler from the 60's. Extra credit for knowing his affliction.
