this is why I asked in the Q & A section on how to have decals look worn and tired like on some hot rods, especially service trucks.Almost done with it,just a few more litle details. This will be a curbside by the way.

a little bit more done on the Metro.I lightly sanded the decals with 1000 grit and it removed the shine so then I brushed some rust powder on them and may go back and move up a grade on the sandpaper to remove a little of the decal here and there.

Needless to say, I'm digging this.

When did Jimmy start casting this? I have the ex-AAM Motor City '53 Metro that Jeff Ballard has been casting for several years, but this is the first time I've seen the Jimmy Flintstone Metro.

Chuck,I picked this up last year at the model show in Kirkland,Mo Cost was 30 bucks, but it was crude on the inside a lot of sanding with the Dremel. It comes with the bed/seating area, front and rear bumper and both doors. No glass, seats, frame, dash.I believe your supposed to use an AMT '50 Chevy pick-up for donor parts. The wheels and tires I used are from a Road Rats die-cast.

quick update: I went back and moved up to a higher grade of sandpaper and added more rust and I think I'm calling this part of the build done.

Looks good George. Stop now!  It's so easy to over do it.

I have the old AAM version of the Metro.  I should dig it out and do something with it!
