Hot paint or not?

Test it. Test it on the plastic that the model you're working on is made of...backs of parts, sprue, etc. I've shot some big-can enamel on some more recent Revell plastic and had horrible crazing, but the same paint on some older Johan and AMT plastic worked fine.

If it turns out to be too hot for the plastic you're putting it on, lay a good coat of primer and try again. Bill is right, you won't find out with the spoon test. It's different plastic and thus won't give the proper results. Use some sprue to test.

To help the paint flow better and a little less thick, you can put the can in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes before spraying. Make sure to wipe the can dry before shaking it anywhere near the model.
