RancheroSteve
The idea for this one got started a few years ago when - on something of a whim - I picked up a set of decals for the Porsche 917 "Pink Pig" with the thought, "I can do something funny with those some day." One day it occurred to me that the combination of the VW and a Porsche might be particularly pig-like. It's not a completely original idea - I've seen a few other very well done phantom VW racers - but this is my take on the concept. Not easy to see, but there's whole detailed engine and driver in there. Markings for the driver were made by making a reduced version of the decal sheet. Thanks for looking - comments, questions, etc. welcome.

krazyglu
Interesting you decided to put the engine in the rear like the orginal air cooled's, though it make's sense with this type of race car. You did a awesome job building this kit, the body mod's all look really good and the driver figure is a real nice touch.

RancheroSteve
Thanks for the compliments! A few WiP shots to give you a little more of an idea of what was involved: This: Plus this: Plus some plastic stock and a lot of putty equals this: I had a few moments when I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull it off, but I'm glad I persevered. caapa
I love Pink Pigs ! Your one is very cool and a very clean built. Before more years I made my pig too: a diecast toy Porsche in about 1:64. I made only new paint, decals and ready.

krazyglu
Wow love the wip shot's, quite impressive. I might not have been able to see all them body mod's through, but I am glad you did. Again awesome and very unique build.
Crazy Ed
What a great Build! Heck I like this bettert than the 917/20 they came from. A bit of trivia,Martini the 917/20's owner hated those Graphics so much they refused to have their name onthe Car
Foxer
Even without the Pig this is a brilliant build!

W-Machine
Very original concept. Your "Pink Pig II" displays some real out-of-the-box thinking, and I like that.
