Here's a look at what's inside the 1/25 AMT Sand Dragon rear-engined sand dragster, circa 1981 or so. It's a typical rear-engined top fuel dragster of the period, with paddle tires substituted for rear drag slicks and a sand shield/rear fender(?) piece in place of the rear wing.

I forgot what a really nice kit that was, I had it as a kid...I wonder if that'll ever be reissued as a combo kit with both paddle rear tires and slicks to build a conventional rear motor car ??? ;)  

 

 Wasn't  it also released as a rear engined digger back in the day ?
