I'm confused and need some help with AN fittings. Looking through several speed equipment catalogs hasn't helped me.
There's red and blue fittings. Are the colors supposed to used at specific times? Like red on a carb or blue on a radiator hose?

Question 1: No
Question 2: No
The red fittings usually go into the object you are plumbing then the blue is on the hose end.
Example: Plumbing a carb: The red fitting goes into the carb and the blue fitting is on the hose.
I hope this helps.

Thanks, Gary. Is it always red followed by blue?

The red fittings are the ones that are not to be removed or disturbed (unless absolutely necessary) while doing repairs. The blue fittings are the ones to be removed during service.

Thanks, Chuck. I think I'm starting to get it.
The reason I ask is because I bought several sizes of Japanese seed beads in hex shape. Much, much less expensive than buying machined aluminum fittings even though the beads don't have a tapered end.

Fusionbeads.com and look at their hex cut Japanese seed beads.
