I'm gonna have to ck in on this one. I've always thought the 58 Cadillac looked SO much better than the 59.
I was just unsure of the quality of the Imex kit. I may have to pick one of these up for later on

Make sure you get an IMEX or ARII boxed kit,
Avoid the Lee or Heller kit, those are Cheap Copy's ans lack much of the detail of this one.
I have this Arii/IMEX Open Biarrittz, and a Heller kit with both Boot cover & Up top.
The Up top looks like Polished Steel and Not the correct fabric/vinyl texture!
Looking Good. I will watch this one, to get ideas from!!

Thank you for your kind words everyone.
Carl, I do my best to be neat and clean and to take my time, even though it seems like I'm working fast. Fortunately I'm lucky enough to be able to put in a lot of time every day at my workbench.
John, the shot of the dash wasn't meant to be a "teaser". It's just all that I had to show for finished work. Hopefully I'll have more results to show later today.
Bill, the quality of the kit isn't the greatest, nor is a lot of the detail. If you give it some love and attention though you can make it shine.

Thanks Daniel. Since I'm doing up the interior, and it's coming along nicely, I'd like to be able to put on a boot cover instead of using the convertible up top. The IMEX kit doesn't come with a boot cover, so it looks like I'll have to try to scratchbuild my own. Is the Heller kit a 1/24 scale..?? If it is, would you be willing to part with the boot cover..??
Dan I thank you... both for your kind words and for the kit.

The Heller kit is a Cheap copy of this one,
The Big difference is that the rear axle is cast as part of the chassis,
while the trailing arms and Metal Springs are separate. It is designed for a battery operated motor!!
Yes, I can let you have to Boot cover.
Not sure how long before I can send it though.

Okedokey... The "crew" at the upholstery shop finally completed work on the Caddy's interior. Everything is installed except for the steering wheel.
To recap, the carpet and the package tray are flocked in Brown. The tuck & roll portions of the seats are done in leather. The flat panels on the seats and door panels are flocked in a Tan color that was custom mixed. The door panels also have some flat Tan paint. BMF trim is on the door panels and the top of the seats. The kit supplied door handles and chrome window switch and lock panels were installed along with the dashboard. Pictures follow...
.

Since the Eldorado is a classy car, I tried to give it a classy looking interior. It was a chore, but I think it turned out looking pretty cool. Now the car can go to the paint shop (as soon as Mother Nature cooperates and gives me a good day to paint.
Thanks for peeking in at it. More progress follows, hopefully soon.

Hate to do this, But, That 'Package Tray' is actually the Pocket where the Soft top will go
when Down, and is covered by the Boot!!
Otherwise, Looking good.
And for anyone interested, The Heller/Lee Boot cover will fit the IMEX/Arii body nicely!!
I have both kits and tested this earlier today.

Thanks very much for the encouraging and kind comments everyone.
Yes John, once the body is painted, cleared, polished and foiled, then final assembly starts. It's moving along nicely.
Daniel, no problem if the "package tray" is covered by the Convertible top boot cover. I wasn't sure if it would be totally covered, so to be safe I just flocked it.
Mike, I really enjoy working on interiors and I had fun doing up this one. I tried to make it as classy looking as the car is.
