I picked up a millennium kit. If it comes out as a Swinger, I'll have to pick up a couple of them. I'd like to
do this one also.

Yes, the new release will be the "70-72 or whatever" Swinger.

I have one of the millennium series kits and I will be replacing the kit small block with that from an Ertl Duster kit. Or, I'll use the body and chassis with no engine as part of a diorama, depending on astrological events whenever the time comes to build the kit. Also, I've got some info about the actual Chrysler "kit cars"; it's a photocopy of the whole catalog/manual with part numbers, detailed drawings, etc. that I obtained may years ago. I hope to be able to scan and download it one day soon so that I can distribute it to those who would be interested.

Some of you might remember this one I built last year. I used an AMT Kit Kar chassis with an MPC body.

I also built one with a Duster body but Fotki is holding those photos hostage. This is the only one I have for now:

All of the bars and components you see are scratch built from Evergreen rod.

Does anyone print replacement or aftermarket decals for these models? I have the Petty decals but the wrong model.

A couple of things that always "troubled" me about the Petty Dart Sportsman Kit car model were:
1). The 355ci engine molded in the kit seems a little too small; although replacing it's block with the block from the 1/25 AMT/Ertl '71 Duster 340 kit is a good corrective measure.
2). The front suspension in the kit, (when built per the kit's instructions), seems really, really wide; the front tires on a built-up stick really far out from being underneath the front fenders and are much wider than the rear suspension's set-up. Does anybody have any ideas as to how to narrow this front suspension to get the front tires underneath the front fenders?

Maybe you could post pics of your decals in the Resin & Aftermarket section for all to see? I can add you contact info to the Aftermarket Directory, too, if you like.

I still have one of the original kits that was assembled except for the body the came with a broken front fender, I got hold of one of the rear engined Funny Car kits, & was either going to just modify that body, or use the front fender for the missing part. But you can bet that I will be getting a couple of these when they hit the shelves, I still have two of the "Cushman" style kits, one in the Millennium box, & one from Walmart, going through the "box" I found a set of instructions for one of the "Scamp" kits that I didn't even remember getting,,, guess it's true, I'm officially getting old.
