Hi,

 

Finally I've made it back, a great deal later than I'd like but I got caught up painting a zombie dude that I had some difficulty with. There's a close up picture of him at the bottom.

 

However, I'm creating a VW van post apocalypse zombie killing machine. It's being built out of two different kits, using my favourite bits from each. It's making things a little more difficult than normal but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

There's been quite a lot of fettling to get everything to fit. Most isn't glued yet so some things are missing (like the dashboard) or are just wonky. However I'm starting to see where I want to go - I'm going to add some anti-zombie protection too.

Thanks guys! Lol, you would believe the problems I've had painting that zombie, parts of him have been repainted at least four times to get him to a point where I'm happy. He's from a company called Dark World Creations (they've recently released a couple of 2000ad figures too). http://www.darkworldcreations.com/

A VW Bus with a minigun on it reminds me of the VW bus from back to the future with the Libyans in it.

Agreed, the zombie looks great. Nice paint work. I'll be watching for progress as both a post-apocalypse and Volkswagen enthusiast.

I don't know, I'd enjoy painting your scratch built zombies, they're cool.

 

I'm trying to decide on a colour scheme - any thoughts?

 

I'm quite liking the light blue and still the orange (with cream).

Orange, go with the orange. You're def a figure painter withy that zombie !

Orange was my first choice too, then the pale blue and now finally the duck egg blue colour. I did do a wip on the zombie but its on a figure forum, you can read it here if you like. http://www.platoonbr...ss.1118/page-16

The VW looks like its coming along great, the zombie looks like he had a couple of people for dinner and couldnt eat another foot. LOL Great job!
