I meant of the real car, seeing as you worked on them.

I still have bits and pieces of the original kit floating around in my spares boxes. The kit came with a 4 cylinder as well IIRC. Pretty simply OHC affair.

I thought both the 1.1 and 1.9 were standard pushrod engines.

Oh...I was 2 decades too late to work on them and in the wrong country as they were made in France.

I thought they were made in Germany?

I have a vague recollection they were made in France like the 2nd gen Tigra a few decades later, but could be that the coach builder only did the body...

Anyway found this website, which may be helpfull to those interested in the GT

They were assembled in Germany, but the bodyshell was produced in France,

I thought both the 1.1 and 1.9 were standard pushrod engines.

The 1.1 was an OHV, but the 1.9 was an OHC engine

Cool fact I never knew.  I've always liked the Opel GT since I lived in Germany when they were new.  I have a few of the past issues as built ups that need to be redone. I need to get a new one!

Did not even know these were reissued! I built one in 2005 with the Buyers Choice on a long weekend. Great little kit over all! That reminds me, I have to finish foiling it...........

All this talk about this kit and noone has mentioned the Gaser that were run back in the day. Take K.S. Pittman, he ran one.

what looks like four stock style tires.

Can anyone confirm the stock tires in this kit are the BFG The Advantage tires, as pictured below, please?
