Mercury Blues, by Steve Miller was probably one of my most favorite car songs, or Racing in the Streets by Bruce Springsteen.

I don't know if Plant is singing about a car...  ... but he does mention a trouble-free transmission, factory air conditioning, featherlight suspension, pumpin' your gas and cruisin' on the freeway...

"Come to me for service... every hundred miles.. baby let me check your points, fix your overdrive..."   ^_^

A good tune to drive to is "Demand" by Phish..... as long as you don't crash your car at the end like the character in the song does!

Some of my picks are:

The Brand New Dodge- Gregg Brown

Rocket 88- Jackie Brenston & the Delta Cats (Ike Turner and his group)

Let's go for a ride- The Collegians

Dynaflow- The Cavaliers

Hot Rod- Little Joey & the Flips

Speedilac- Sonny Day & the Versitiles

Cadillac Man- The Jesters

Built for speed- Stray Cats

Hot Rod Man- Tex Rubinowitz

Rocket 88- Jackie Brenston & the Delta Cats (Ike Turner and his group...

Some say that's the first rock and roll song.

I know it can be debated, but it's definitely one of the first.
