Still waiting on the donor kit but did get some more work done on the body. got it all puttied up and smoothed and primed. Ready for paint. Going to hold off on that until I can do a mock up with the new chassis. Also waiting to see if I have to narrow the body to get the look I'm after. As I said before I really don't want to because that would then mean modifing the dash and interior. We shall see.

Over vacation a few weeks ago I studied the Watson drawings pretty close too and put a project on my short list. So yes, I'm watching with interest too.

Ok. I received this in the mail today. It is my hope that this chassis will be a good foundation for this build. I can get back on this as soon as I complete the 8 wheeled dragster I am working on.

Great choice. Engine, wheels, tires, chassis. that's got everything. Now I'm REALLY looking forward to this.

Found a have to lengthen the wheelbase by moving the rear axel back, no big deal. Wanted to test fit the interior into the body and then check if it will fit low enough on the frame or would that too need some modifications. &*%$ where is my interior ? Gone, missing, nowhere to be found. Bummer. I know I had the pieces because I saw them. Did I toss them out when cleaning up from the last build ? Rats ! Can't find them anywhere. Total interior gone. Interior bucket, seats, dash all gone. Gave up looking and bought another Vette from ebay. Thats what I get for cleaning up !  : )

Ok, now that the dust has settled on the 8 wheeled dragster I can start up on this thing again. Got some work done to the "Lil Coffin" chassis and I think this will work just fine. Not going to add much if any detail so this should go pretty quick. Interior parts and body all in primer. Can't paint the body till I know if I have to do any more modifications. Going to have to relocate the rear axel back a bit but thats easy enough. Engine pretty much done such as it is. I will also have to lengthen the drive shaft a bit which is also pretty easy. Thanks for looking in.

Got some more done on this "thing ". Chassis is nearly done. Body is painted but still needs to be cleared. Still need to locate a good set of headers that will work with this body and still trying to work out some issues with the interior. Having more problems than I anticepated. You all know how it goes, you change one thing and that makes you change two others. Comments welcome good or bad.

Looking good.  Have you ever tried using aluminum rod for headers?  Michaels in the floral section.

Ray, this is looking fantastic and the choice of Li'l Coffin chassis was a great idea - the funky coil front end is perfect for this kind of build.  For headers, you might try looking for a pair that come from , I think, the AMT 32 Phaeton or possibly the 32 Vicky.  They work well with a hemi and stand a fair way out from the frame - I suspect this is what you are trying to work around.  Another wide set of headers are the ones in the old Eldon or Dyoshu Invader twin engine show car - probably not so easy to find but maybe some-one on here has a pair in their parts box.  Boothill Express pipes are 1/24 and suit a hemi  but they would pass under the car so you might have to fill in the visual gap between the firewall and the front wheels some other way if you used those.

If you're still thinking bubbletops, the Beanik Bandit unit would have to go close.

Cheers

Alan
