Nevertheless I find real wire wheels more attractive so I made a set of real wire wheels myself. 

Okay, enough about the car. Please, please tell us how you made those wheels! They are spectacular and I'd love to make some if it is possible to do without a complete machine shop.

I, too, am interested in how Jürgen built the wheels. Here are some different techniques for different wire counts in larger scales that may be helpful...

It's amazing how much "real" wire wheels add to the looks of a model car.

Glad this came up again because I missed it the first time. Looks fantastic and those wires are the ultimate icing on the cake.
