There is no free lunch on the Internet.  Once you install the ad blocker it's sending some data back to the mother ship.  Heck, it could be worse than the ads you're blocking.

And the big question.  Ads on the board. Does the site get paid for each time the ad appears in a page view, just for the clicks, or a combination of both?   AND, the big question... do the ad blocker guys negate the view income, thus work against the site?

I talked it over with my wife and we both agree. If I had to choice to be a paid member for say $25 a year , or go some where else. I would gladly pay the $25 for a year as it would be worth it due to all the good stuff that is on this forum.

Not ture, the ad blocking program is harmless, and is not going to do anything to your computer,  now the ads on the other, can and do all the time,  and for the record , I am not, I repeat not saying the ads that are on this site do.

My brother said he gets a flat rate plus so much a click on any ads.(pennies) He said he did pretty well with it last year but it is down this year.

Johnathon must be telling too many people about ad blocker! Hmmmm, I wonder..... ;)

I downloaded it and it got rid of the ads. Never knew that they slowed things down like that!

Yeah.  And Jonathan gets a flat rate every time somebody downloads those ad-blockers;  plus so much a click every time he clicks his bic.
