These are pictures of the Maisto 1/24 Scale 2014 Corvette Diecast I received in the mail today. I really dig the 2014 Corvette and couldn't wait to get my hands on a model of it. The quality is neither wonderful nor terrible, just sort of comfortably in the middle. There are some minor flaws in the paint, but the amount of detail is commendable for a diecast, especially with the interior. I plan to enjoy it as a shelf model, until I can get my hands on a styrene plastic model.

I dunno, the model looks fine to me , especially considering that the company usually sells these for a mere ten dollars , usually less at Walgreens Pharmacies . As for the overall styling, that's debatable . Generic Motas is on a "Cheese Wedge " kick . They started with Cadillac and unfournately, it spread to it's remaining divisions . Would I buy one , yes , eventually ..............

KEWL!

We probably won't have to wait long for a styrene kit, but this diecast will do for the time being B)

I dunno, it still hasta grow on me I guess. Wasn't real impressed with this one. LOVE the engine, but the styleing is rather copycat Ferrari to me. I gotta agree with Ed on the "Cheese Wedge" style.

Hmmmm....Lotta people didn't like the 63 split window when it came out either. OR the 68 styling....or the new Camaro....life goes on.

I just got the red Maisto 2014 vette. The paint is a real problem. Looks like they sprayed a clear red over the bare metal to get a candy-apple effect. Looks fine in the flat areas. Problem is when you spray it over bare metal and not a gold or silver base coat, you end up with runs and pooling in recessed areas! Otherwise, a decent model for the price. A regular metallic paint would have been a better and safer choice. Hopefully they'll work it out in future versions

Hard to tell if it's just the photos or not, but the paint seems to have dark areas.  Anyway, wonder if Revell will do one...they are so slow, though, it probably won't be out until 2016.. :)

If the diecast guys can do a model quickly, why can't the injection-molded plastic guys do it?

Either way there's tooling and licensing involved. So what's the problem? Why does a plastic kit come out years late?

Looks like Maisto is also doing the convertible.  Both the coupe and convertible are available in several colors from them..  Not bad for the low price point.

Does anyone else think the new Corvette would look better without those little quarter windows?
