Well I had a bit of a disater tonight that will set me back a bit. While trying to get the lettering on the doors, I found that my cleacoat over the stripe decals was not the best, and part of the stripes pulled off. I wound up taking sticky tape and trying to pull all of the stripes and clear coat off to get it back down to the base coat of paint. I have ordered more stripes, but I will have to wait for them to come now. I guess I will try to put the lettering on before the stripes this time around.

Very nice job. I drove a 1974 KW cab over back in the mid 80's

It's been a little while, but I have finally made a little more progress with the cab:

This is going to be sweet once done.  Paint looks really sharp!  How did you do the dash gauges?

Bending wire for the step/handrail should not be too terribly hard with a little jig. So I arrogantly say never having done this style myself....LOL

I did the dash by painting the whole thing black, then painting the "wood" areas brown. I drybrushed some black on the wood grain to get a better wood look, then I used a silver sharpie to highlight each gauge. It took a while, but I'm pretty happy with it. Once in the truck you can't really see it anyways.

Hi,

It is looking really nice - lots of details changed to replicate a particular truck/look - I really like how this one is coming out.

This build is spot on! The paint job and striping is perfect. I have one of these kits

waiting to be built and learned a lot from this posting.
