I kinda like them. Would look better on a pickup, though. :)

Stearman biplane looks good to me. Seriously. Now , that Roth '57, does it really look like the first Revell "everything opens and moves" fiddley kit we were expecting ? I think not. They got an awfully good fit on that driver's side door if it is.  :o

Strange, the only thing I have that's different than your list is the "Boss" Mustang. I just have to see  if I can do a better job on that '57 this time around, all the others in my stash, except for the pink one have been cut up for race cars (dirt oval) & I just can't get excited about that pink release since it seems as though there is more plastic in the flash than in the kit parts themself.

Don't think so - guessin' it's just the black trim strip you're seeing from the side at the rear corners...

Also, with the five billion Mustang kits already out, I can't believe Revell has not tried to get the jump on Round 2 with full detail 2014 Stingray and Z28 kits as well.  No offense to the Mustang guys but, I am sure there is a large market for the two new Chevy muscle cars as well.  I know it takes a lot of money to create a new tool kit but, the Z28 molds could possibly even be modified from the existing SS kit.

Even though I am a Ford guy, totally agree with the Camaros.  Competition improves the breed for sure, in the 1/1 world and in styrene.  The Mustang GT would probably still be sitting on around 300 horsepower or so if it wasn't for the camaro.

I'm still excited by some of Revell's stuff, but since we are all adding our 2 cents...... pull a Round 2 on the Snake and Mongoose combo, clean up the tools, new tires, and WHITE plastic.  That being said, we each could probably name a half dozen Revellogram kits off the tops of our heads that we'd like the see that done to.

Cheers,

Greg

Not a car topic, but I find it interesting that for years Lindberg marketed the the old Renwal 1/48 Stearman (and the Curtiss J4 Jenny) and now it's with Revell.  I guess Round 2 passed on that tooling with their recent purchase of Lindberg.

Nope, the Revell 1/48 Stearman is an all-new tool.

Much different, Greg.

Check the wheels, tires, landing gear, engine, engine mount, windshields, cowling, wings, color AND numbers.

The Lindberg was very simplified.  The new Revell kit looks to be much better detailed.

Modern science has made great advancements in prescription eyewear and computer monitor cleaning solutions....

Funny part is Revell's new kit will retail for a buck less than the current issue of the Lindberg clunker ($16.95 vs $17.99)

IMHO it's a good thing is that Revell is not modifying the tooling extensively to create the Foose versions of existing kits, so an optimist might be happy that the option to reissue the '68 Firebird 400, '67 Hemi Charger, etc. still exists. If the added parts don't appeal to us, they can always be replaced or left off entirely. People tend to forget not every 3'n'1 AMT kit was built using all or even some of the custom parts back in the day. There were plenty of replica stock builders back then who eschewed the custom parts, but they didn't have the internet available to broadcast their complaints.

This is only 25% of what Revell has planned for 2014, so if these don't appeal to you, there are another 30+ kits coming, one of of which might tickle your fancy.

Very true Casey. l have plenty to work on..

Pretty sure it's Revell US.  I've heard that Bill Koster (who designed many of the 1990's "Pro-Modeler"-era aircraft kits, and is also well know for his Koster vac-form company) was involved with the kit design.

I could see RoG releasing the Red Bull Flying Bulls' Stearman...   343970.jpg
