saw this today, took some pictures pretty cool.

Thats one way of hauling it I don't see how that's legal it sticks out quite a bit on the side I wander why he didn't use a bigger trailer or a nice big gooseneck

Is that Airfix P51D the Monogram 'Phantom'Clear bodied kit??

Has Monogram/Revell ever re-issued that??

Was it called Phantom? or something else??

 No, Dan. The Monogram "Phantom P-51" is 1/32nd scale. The Airfix and Trumpter kits are 24 th scale.

Since we seem bent on moving large things... here's flight 1549, the one Sully landed in the Hudson River.  It was towed over to the New Jersey side of the river and needed to be moved through some pretty dense city areas to get it out of there...

Don't forget the MPC 1/25 scale General, Steam Locomotive. That'd make for two loads, the engine on a lowboy and the tender, off its trucks, on a 40' Freuhauf flatbed...

 

 

HMMMMMM, Chris, I wonder where that idea came from?!?!? :lol:  I plan (if I ever get my truck community build back on track here) to build just that.

Just as a point of reference too, through my research on the General, it could be hauled as a single unit one just one truck. The weight of the engine and tender are just over 44,000 pounds, and even though I don't think it would fit in my box trailer, the light weight of my 1:1 is 33,000, so I would still have 3,000 pounds to spare before I hit 80,000 pounds.
