does any one know if the Tamiya (#24272) 2003 Calsonic Skyline body is molded in Blue or White? Thanks! Joe

Joe, I don't have the kit, but traditionally they do mold them in color. Unless specified on the box like their plated cars or clear views.

Thanks Chris, I just got the word on HH that it is molded in blue. 8) I plan on gettig it and painting it TS44 Brilliant Blue. It should look pretty cool sitting next to the 23 I already have. 8)

Just a question from an old fart who lived in the 60s for too many decades:

What series (and where) do these cars race? I haven't seem 'em in GrandAm or ALMS and I don't have a complete knowledge of SCCA classes...my last membership expired in 77. (Now I belong to SCTA and USFRA.)

Are they purely Japanese racing series? European DTM?

Btw, thee are some nice builds there.

Chevy Asylum, yeah, these run in the JGTC series. Japanese GT Cars.

Basically, yah. Japanese Touring Car Championship (JTCC).

Tamiya makes a whole mess of those cars.

John already answered your question, but I'd like to shed some insight on it too. As John said, JGTC (Japanese Gran Touring Championship) althought it is now referred to as Super GT because they have come stateside once in the past, and it is becoming a more international race. (Porsches, C6R's, Ford GT's, and the rest of the J-Spec cars). There are two classes, GT300 and GT500 (similar to ALMS GT1 and GT2). The car bodies are usually completely carbon fiber with widened fenders and bigger wheel arches.

I love the series. I wish it would come stateside more often. The cars are amazing. Its like Japanese Le Mans almost.

Thanks John and Mike. I understand a lot better now. I'll have to keep my eyes open just in case one of these events shows up on the toob. I'd like to watch 'em run.
