What car would that be?

You'll have to wait to see :P

Awesome theme this year, I was going to wait until the first of the year to enter but eveyone else is already signing up so I figured I'd join you guys. :)

If it's okay I would like to try for two enties again this year, nothing over the top this time. My tag team theme will be from my personal favorite auto makers, Dodge and Pontiac. A 68' Dodge Dart and a 77' or 78' (depends on the kit) Trans Am that I will covert over to a 77' Firebird Formula as a tribute to one my Dad once owned a long time ago. I have the Dart on hand but not the Firebird so I will wait until after I have it to post or start my builds, if that's okay of course. :)

With that said I wish all those who celebrate a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as well, see you all in 2014! :)

Okey Dokey!

Hmm. So a few years ago I did a Stude road racer that I eventually turned into a Carrera Panamericana racer. Well this time it's going to be a '70 Cuda, Pikes Peak racer wannabe. I'm in.

Well I need to enter and finish this year. last year turned into a fiasco, let's leave it at that. I will post up what I will be building, and (hopefully finishing) for next years race.

After failing to finish last year I'm determined to make the start line this time with a '70 Mustang Boss 429.

Ummmm, no Zen......you're thinking in Oz terms again.

You do know Tex Smith now lives (at least part of the year) down here now?  So it was sort of relevant.

Nice mix of cars.  I like it better when we have a theme.  Helps me decide.

Well I'm going to commit with a 1970 Olds Cutlass Ralley 350. I was going to do a 78 Firebird, but since there is going to be a 77 in the race, I will scratch that and maybe enter a second entry, if time allows, later.

It will look awkward next to all these muscle cars, but I'm going to attempt to field a Porsche 924 Turbo (first offered in 1978). This kit only has about 8 parts, so I'll have to add something to it, like an engine:

Edit: I looked in a Porsche book that I have, and its says that the 924 Turbo was first sold in the U.S. in 1979, so I'll register my entry as a 1979 Porsche 924 Turbo. State of the art for the year!

Hi Nick,

i am in, think about a Mustang, Charger or something classic...just must take a look in my stash.

One thing, i did not understood: is new drivetrain allowed, only car must be younger than 1979?

The car body must be 1979 or older. However you may use any part/assembly from anything regardless of year.

Which will save us having arguments about "when those wheels were introduced" or "the X23 Big Block didn't have the underhand flange monkey grubbler valve blades until 1981".

I'm using a 1991 chassis and the biggest engine I can fit in the available space without cutting the bonnet.
