About 15 years ago I was fortunate to instruct a guy in a kit version with a very strong 427 side oiler.  You could feel the rear end squirrelling around under acceleration. Fun, but will never do that again with just a petty bar for protection.

I've enjoyed that for 3 decades. Better at the drag strip.

She is almost ready for paint.  In fact she's been almost ready for paint for some time now.  The thought of having to lay down a smooth black paint job has me a bit nervous.

Looks real nice.  The details might not be 100% technically accurate but not very many people are gonna know that.  I built just one of these AMT kits waaaaaaayy back in '64 or '65 (very much inspired by the TV show "Honey West") and I'm happy to have another on my shelf now.

Sorry Gene this was my 3rd consecutive Cobra build so I got a little burned out.  I promise to finish it soon.  I am making progress on my Porsche 914/6 however.  I will be posting an update in the next day or so.

I got hung up on how to fabricate the stone guard that Shelby ran on the '63 Cobra.  I tried wire only.  I tried styrene rod.  Finally came up with this solution.  The straight bottom section is brass tubing and the top is brass wire.  Not exactly like the 1:1 which is more oval.  I think it works better if it is shaped more like the air intake.

That's pretty fricking close JC, I think with a little more tweaking you'd have it.

I can totally understand that JC, we'll be waiting patiently.

JC, where's the thread for the Porsche? I can't find it.
