When did it come out?!

It's not quite out yet, should be just a few more weeks.   This is a production review sample courtesy of some really nice folks at Round 2.

The new nose is a vast improvement over the original. This is a pic of an early re-issue and a resin Malco body mastered by Paul Mendoza. The yellow nose is the original version

Looks like a neat kit..never had one of these.  The yellow one in that pic looks like a '65-66 style front end.

the SOHC engine here...how does it rate? is it used in other kits, or is it noticeably better or worse than other company's offerings?

thanks for posting this, its always nice to see what you are going to get when you open the box lid.

7c72a6d2d75089b48e112d62760ef322.jpg From the resent issue of Hot Rod Delux :" Where Have All The Gassers Gone ?" by: Dave Wallace :"A major nail in the coffin of gas coupes came when FoMoCo-backed Ohio George committed the heresy of rewrapping his Willys frame and SOHC 427 with '67 Mustang panels." He goes on to say  " . . .  the controversial new/old combination topped the AA/Gas class in 1968 and won Super Eliminator, as a BB/Altered in 1969."

Gotta love those wheelie bar tires.  :o

Isn't this the kit that back in the day had the wrong body to to the actual car?

Like wrong ft clip compared to the body ?

Yes you are correct GTX. The rear body was close and the front clip looked more like a 66 than the 67 it was supposed to represent. I'm assuming here but I think since they probably had to retool the front end for the correct scoop they decided to correct the front clip all together.
Greg, the 69 was the clear body car. Never the 67 as far as I am aware.
