I am not a ford truck guy but the quality looks amazing so I may pick (scratch that will pick one up). I am just surprised no one has kitted a ford raptor just mho.

Yes, and definitely no carburators--those went away decades ago.

No carbs?   Isn't that a diet?   ;)

Couple of notes on the kit:

There is no steering box/linkage, at all.

There is a tie rod that allows the front wheels to turn.

There is no front panhard or whatever it would be called on the front of a truck, that keeps the front end from moving or shifting from side to side.

The AMT/MPC Desert Dog tires fit the stock MENG rims perfectly.

The Aoshima HiLift SuperSwampers fit, but they balloon the sidewalls a bit.

MENG has said they will send out replacement chrome, but check your chrome first, see if it does peel

I would like to follow this, and so would MENG

Gilbert saw some of my bigger Aoshima Mega Rims, and they look amazing!!!!
I know a lot of guys will be doing this set up.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday. Paid on the 12th, shipped on the 15th, arrived yesterday the 19th. Coming from Hong Kong, that's pretty good. The only thing I don't like is the tires that came with the kit. They look horrible, so I swapped them out for the tires that came with the jeep rubicon kit. They look a lot better. I have a set of So Real Concepts tires that I'm going to see if they fit. There is almost no mold lines on the kit its self.

Now I'm wondering if I should have kept my HLJ preorder..I cancelled it last week and ordered from the place in China that was 50% less...

I ordered from HobbyEasy in Hong Kong. $43 kit + $21 S/H and I had it in 8 days - HK to NY. Recommended!

That said, they'll be all over the place domestically by mid-June, probably for $60 - $70, shipped.

Wow! Not sure how I missed this one.  My last Super Duty was a 2006 4wd dually and it's not a whole lot different than this one. It's closer than anything to date.  The way the bed is made I wonder if they plan on Dually sides in the future.

Does the grill angle back at the top as shown in the photos?

I know it was mentioned that the built kit is just dry fit together but the grill is my concern as I have a diecast model that has the same possible issue.   I plan on getting a few and modifying then to match my old 2004 extended cab single wheel and 2006 crew cab dually trucks.  Speccast made a diecast dually extended cab I can rob a bed from.

speccast is 1/25 this kit is 1/24 the bed will look small on the truck. I do love me a speccast though, i converted one to a dually and lifted another.IMG_20140325_211831_zpsf1834a23.jpg

The pictures of the builtup on the Meng site show the grille fitting normally, not angling back.

Thanks Jake,  I knew they were 1/24 = 1/25, I guess it was the other thread I mentioned that.  The sides come off the speccast bed and was hoping on just using them on the 1/24 bed. It would be a little short but I'll have to see if it looks right.

That said, I just scaled out the size of the 1/24 and now I'm having second thought on getting one. This is a large truck and sitting next to 1/25 may look just too large.

I may have to hook up with the local guys here and get a closer look.

Rob, Thanks for the web info.  That looks much better.

Just ordered/bought my two kits for $113.98 shipped. MTH Hobby on ebay has them for $56.99 plus $9.10 shipping. But, if you spend over $100, the shipping is free. It was a no brainer since I wanted two kits to start with anyway. This is the best deal I've found so far. I'm thinking that as more of them become available, the more the price will go down. The people pricing them in the $70 plus range will have to change their pricing or rely on the uninformed. ;)  I'm glad I waited and didn't do a pre order with a vendor. I'm curious as to what GMS Customs will price this kit for. His prices are some of the cheapest you can get.

The best domestic vendor price I've seen so far is at Diecast Alley...$49.95 + $8.xx shipping.
