Keep your pants on just a little bit longer, guys... it's almost here. B)

This is the last (or next to last?) test shot- according to Dave Metzner, what you see here is what the production kit will be... corrected hood, roof, rear axle, and all. The printed Goodyear tires in a few of the pictures are from AMT- they fit the Moebius wheels pretty well. I also wired the engine and replaced the last 3/8" or so of the kit tailpipe with tubing, but that's it. Paint is Chrome Yellow/Pure White in Ford's "Combination" two-tone. Combination was where the lower bodysides and roof were painted accent color. The "Regular" two tone had only the roof painted the accent color, and the Deluxe two-tone had onlly the lower bodysides painted accent color.

In the next pic, it will look like the wing vent post is too short- there's a gap between the top of it and the window opening. That's not a kit flaw- I broke off the end of the post while cleaning some flash. So... my fault, not the kit's. The next pic also shows the kit-supplied tires and wheel covers. The tires have no sidewall lettering, but there is a scuff band, which you can paint white for a narrow whitewall look, iff'n that's the way you swing.

As far as the way it goes together? All I'm going to say is "you're in for a treat". From where I sit, the delays and time spent perfecting the kit was time well spent.

And here's a little update...

The test shot had no decals- they were still in development when I built the test shot. So when I got a pre-production kit (which does have decals) I had to see how they'd look! Decals are typical Moebius quality- well printed, won't fight you much, and lay down well.

Next time, I think I'd sand off the "Ford" lettering from the tailgate before using the woodgrain decal. I'll also have to remember to paint the back window gasket.

Looks good Chuck! Could you post a dead on photo of the front of the model (grille area) please? Also, is the rear window gasket molded to the glass or the body?

Not the best pic, but hope this'll work...

Rear window gasket is molded to the body- the glass only has a gluing flange.

Looks great! Do you have a pic of the chassis handy?

The only thing on the chassis they've changed from this pic...

Very nice work Chuck!

I've already placed an order with my favorite dealer for two cases... for our club build! :) Can't wait. This is a winner kit for sure!
