Topics I've Started

68 Sport Fury

15 April 2013 - 02:05 AM

On another thread I started while working on a '68 Fury wagon, I admitted that I had really chopped up the original body from the police pursuit kit.

So I started thinking about how to put the body back together.  It hit me that the '67 GTX has the same roof line as a Fury Sport.  So I cut the top off the two,

I rescribed the door lines to make it a two door.  I'll probably add bucket seats and a console

I'll probably make the GSX into a convertible, but that's a different story.  I'm not sure if I'll ever finish this one, but it's fine to give it a try

Enjoy!

1970 Ford Galaxie

12 April 2013 - 12:24 AM

While frustrated with some other builds, I changed gears and started work on the AMT '70 Galaxie police car.  But I wanted to make it more like one we had back in the day.  So, I found a green close to my memory of the Ford, made a vinyl top out of tape, and found some stock looking hubcaps from the parts box. BMF ended up a bit thick and too shiny, but you get the idea.   I kept the interceptor engine, though, just for kicks.

Enjoy!

Older 57 Ford and Ranchero

22 February 2013 - 01:01 PM

I built this '57 Ford some time ago.   Liking the way it turned out, I dug out a very old Ranchero, and tried to make 'em twins.  Attached File  Johns iPhone.2.22.13 156.jpg   131.42K   60 downloads

1968 Fury Station Wagon

22 February 2013 - 12:56 PM

OK, one of my favorite cars when I was younger was a '68 Plymouth Fury Wagon.  Since I like re-creating my youth, I wanted to build one

First, the wrong way:  Buy a fairly rare Fury 4 door, and cut it up.Attached File  Johns iPhone.2.22.13 218.jpg   175.58K   50 downloads

Then, the right way:  Found a resin version of the wagon,  Attached File  Johns iPhone.2.22.13 222.jpg   122.71K   60 downloads

So I'm also now trying to put the 4 door back together!

Good thing I've got the weekend.  More later!

Door handles

10 January 2013 - 05:02 PM

Anyone know a source for exterior door handles for 60's, 70's Fords?
