Hi all,

First time to try to use some aftermarket wheels. I'm building the Revell 2010 Mustang and thought it would be cool to try some Pegasus wheels (I hear about them all the time in the builds on forums) - I found some I like and ordered them. I got the #1240 1/24 "Phat Boyz" Rims W/Tires and the #1204 1/24 "Tri-Blades" Rims W/Tire. I don't care much for the tires but wanted to use the wheels with the Revell tires. Well ... and this is where my ignorance with aftermarket wheels comes to light ... the wheels don't fit the tires. They push right through - even tho the wheels are labeled 1/24 they are actually smaller than the 1/25th tire. I tried them with some 1/24th tires from another kit and they are still too small. Both the kit and the Pegasus wheels are suppose to be 19" - I didn't think the scale difference would be that big - and then reversed...

Weird. Anyway - I know you guys use the Pegasus wheels - do you have to use the Pegasus tires or what is a common way to adapt (and look good!) the wheels to the Revell tires. Anyone run into this before?

Anyone have a source for aftermarket bowl filters (like pictured) below or thoughts, tips on scratching one?

Hi,

During the course of wet sanding with the graduated grits a few high spots and outside edges were rubbed down to primer. Very slight but will need some paint. What is the best way to do this? Try to airbrush just those areas, fill them with a brush? Or put another complete coat on? Hopefully one of the first two.

Hey guys,

Curious about the part packs by Revell and AMT... I ran across one of each on ebay and snagged them. The Revell is the Chevy 283ci - and it's all chrome! The AMT is unplated and contains 4 full engines - Chrysler 392 Hemi, Pontiac 421, Corvair 145, Chevy 283, and some chrome grilles and stuff. These are so cool!

So what is the history here? When were these offered? 70s, 80s, 90s, current? Was/is it to encourage or help with kit bashing? Both packs appear to be much more detailed than a kit engine. It's weird that the Revell mill is chromed - was it intended to be displayed alone? Fill me in on these cool parts packs if you can - I couldn't really find much on google or a search here.

HI all!

Any sources for some nice aftermarket 1/25 ignition coils - wired would be cool, too. The coil in the kit I'm currently working on (AMT 57 Cameo Pickup) is pretty bad. Looks really bad next to one of those sweet M.A.D. pre-wired distributors!

Thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
