AMT 2013 Camaro ZL1 - Better Pics

13 June 2013 - 02:01 PM

I used this kit to kick start me back into building since I had not built anything since January. I thought a nice curbside kit like this one would do the trick. Now that the Camaro is finished I can get to work on my original AMT 1969 Mustang which I found on ebay. Looking forward to that one.

*WIP* Original AMT 1969 Mustang - Wimbledon White - Primered and Painted

10 June 2013 - 02:09 PM

I picked up this original AMT 1969 Mustang on ebay for a handsome price. The kit was still in the original shrink wrap and looked pretty good for being in the box for 44 years......just like a time capsule. I wanted this kit for my Mustang collection because it was the only model of this car that was kitted accurately to my knowledge plus it is my favourite Mustang. For a change this model will be built without the Mach 1 version. Too many models of this car have all been built as Mach 1's. I think this will be a refreshing change...besides the engine included in the kit is not a Mach 1 engine anyway. At this point I will be painting the build in factory colour "Wimbledon White". They have also included the old Firestone tires with red walls on one side and white walls on the other side.....I will be using the red wall side. Stay tuned for more to come from this vintage build.

Revell 1957 Ford Custom & Revell 1957 Chevrolet 150 Together

29 January 2013 - 03:19 PM

I have had a few requests to post my last two builds together in one photo showing the 1957 Ford Custom squaring off with the 1957 Chevrolet 150. I would have liked to have taken the pics outside under natural light but weather is not going to permit me to do this for several days so I shot them inside under artificial light. Have a look.

Revell 1957 Chevrolet 150 Utility Sedan - Finished!

10 January 2013 - 03:06 PM

After building my recently posted 1957 Ford Custom Tudor I have decided to go with another entry-level vehicle. This time I am going with the Revell 1957 Chevrolet 150 Utility Sedan. This will be one of those "no frills, maximum bang for the buck" vehicles. This build will sport the 283 Fuelie with blackwall tires and dog dish hubcaps....nothing fancy...bland but with performance or if you prefer, a sleeper! As with my '57 Ford this also will be one colour..no two-tone. I have already painted this one in Model Master factory colour "Tropical Turquoise" and it will have the standard gray interior. Stay tuned for more progress.

Revell 1957 Ford Custom Tudor - Finished Pics

23 December 2012 - 07:23 AM

I just started this new release from Revell which looks to be a pretty good kit so far. I painted the body in Testors "Light Blue" which is a good match to the factory colour "Starmist Blue". Interior is going to be Testors "Dark Blue" with the light gray door panel and seat trim decals. Since I am not too fussy on a real austere look I have deciced to swap out the blackwall tires that are included in this kit for the aftermarket AMT Firestone Champion wide whitewall tires. I checked with the 1957 Ford sales brochure and they show this particular model of vehicle with wide whitewall tires so I'm assuming they were available at extra cost. Stay tuned for more progress!
