Revell 1968 Corvette Roadster L88 Option

21 March 2015 - 12:35 PM

Just finished this Revell 1968 Corvette L88. Built this same kit around twenty years ago and was going to rebuild it but was too far gone to fix it up so I decided to start fresh with a new kit. Painted it in Testors "Bug Yellow" enamel which is a pale shade of yellow. I wanted it to have a real stock look so I went with whitewalls done with my circle stencil and a white gelly roll acrylic medium tip pen. Check her out.   :)

AMT 1976 Chevrolet Nova SS 350

18 January 2015 - 11:48 AM

I finally finished up this old rare kit from AMT that I bought on ebay several years ago. Painted in Testor's "Competition Orange" enamel. Tires in the kit were swapped out for a smaller set I had in my tire parts box. The ones that came with the kit looked too large for a car of this size. Tire decals are from Fireball Modelworks and the Nova SS decals are from Keith Marks. I sanded off the molded-in Nova scripts. Have a look and see what you think.

Revell 1970 Ford Torino GT 429 Cobra Jet (Non Ram Air)

22 December 2014 - 09:32 AM

I just finished this Revell 1970 Torino GT 429. Great kit with no fit issues to report. I did find the photo-etched parts a bit difficult to work with. Anyway, check it out and all comments welcomed.

Revell 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 L78 option

15 October 2014 - 04:55 PM

I never thought about posting my finished '67 Camaro SS in this forum, rather I posted the finished pics in the "On the Workbench" forum where I did the WIP. Well anyway I will post a few pics here for those who didn't see it in that forum. As I mentioned before, this kit was a joy to build and I only encountered a couple of fit issues. Carb needed to be sanded down a bit in order for the hood to fit down flush without hitting the air cleaner and the back wheels after installation were not centered in the wheel wells and needed to be moved forward. I just trimmed about 1/16th" of the front of both leaf springs and moved the whole assembly forward. The same will be needed for the drive shaft as well. Check out the pics when you get a chance.Revell1967ChevroletCamaroSS396a_zps8ee9f

Revell 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 - Finished

24 September 2014 - 02:19 PM

Just started this new release from Revell. Looks as though the kit is fairly decent except for the grille being a little off from the 1:1 car. Here is my progress so far.
