2013 Hangtown national pictures, for anyone into motorcycles

19 May 2013 - 06:14 PM

Here are some pictures I took at the opening round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Nationals.  The track is Hangtown MX just outside Sacramento CA.  Figured I would test out the new off-topic area and post it up for anyone interested.  Enjoy!

69 Camaro Fastback

11 May 2013 - 08:52 AM

About a year ago I bought a Revell 69 Camaro kit from a vendor at NNL West, but unfortunately for me, I didn't look well enough at the contents and the body was cracked and broken.  I had done business with the vendor before and he has always been very kind to me, so I honestly believe he had no idea, plus it is ultimately on me because I looked inside and still didn't see the broken body!   I have been trying to figure out what to do with it, and a few days ago an idea came to me, why not make it a fastback?  It was mainly the roof and trunk that were damaged, so I decided to cut out the trunk and extend the roof to give it a fastback look.  This is the first time I have ever cut into a body, but I figured what the heck since it was broken anyway.  Here is what I have so far:

For filler, so far I have only used baking soda and super glue, it works really well.  The roof also has a 3 scale inch chop.

I have to fix the body warp, hopefully it won't be too bad.

Dodge Viper ACR

Just finished my ACR for the cannonball run in the community builds section.  It is all box stock, I just added some carbon fiber and paint detail.  Let me know what you think! B)

1/16 General Lee

06 February 2013 - 06:58 PM

Here is another past build.  It is the 1/16 69 Charger General Lee from Round 2, however I modified the heck out of it to make it somewhat resemble a stock charger like the Duke boys had.  I opened the trunk, and built a new engine bay and front suspension.  Exhaust is also scratchbuilt along with the tank straps.  Interior is about 50% scratchbuilt, including a rear seat and center console.  This project taught me a lot about scratchbuilding, and although I could probably build it better now, it is still one of my favorite builds and a lot of time and effort was put into it.  Hope you guys enjoy! :D

Airbrush sputtering problem

10 January 2013 - 05:56 PM

Hey guys, I have a Badger 200 single action brush that I got new.  I have been using it for about 6 months and it has always had a small sputtering problem.  Over the months I have tried different things to stop it and haven't found a solution, so I was wondering if anyone had something else to try.  Here is the list of what I have done:

1. Used telon tape on all of the fittings in order to seal them

2. messed with air pressure and paint consistancy

3. pulled the brush apart and cleaned it after EVERY use

I use a large compressor for my painting so is it possible that it may have a leak in one of its lines?  Not sure what else to try so any other options would be greatly appreciated.
