Topics I've Started

Had a dream of mine come true.

08 January 2015 - 06:55 AM

So ever since I was a 10 yr old boy looking at my first issue of Scale Auto I have wanted one of my builds to appear in a magazine. It happened last week to me! Now its not exactly what i was wanting but i will take it!  I will still keep plugging away on my true dream of having a car featured but this is a nice boost in my self confidence!  Just wish the picture would have been nicer.

1/43 Shelby Daytona Cobra and Shelby Cobra

24 October 2014 - 05:49 PM

Been working on some of my small scale stuff here lately. The Cobra is done but the Daytona needs a few things touched up on it before it heads to the next club meeting.

The Daytona Cobra is from Starter. All resin with Vacuum formed windows and P/E parts. This one was kinda costly, got lucky and won it for 48.00 shipped on Ebay. They normally go for around 60-80.00.

The Cobra is from Monogram, built box stock. Fun build but the chrome was less than steller. One side of the tree was missed completely missed and all the parts were only half way plated. Got lucky since i have several of these in my stash. Next one will be a stripped down racer so i wont need good chrome.

32 Ford Rat Roaster.....kinda

24 October 2014 - 05:36 PM

Here is the 32 Ford i built for my club build. This was not how i was going to build it but it works!  Several turned aluminum parts as well as some P/E parts. Paint is 1996 Viper GTS blue pearl.  Oh i won 1st place in the club build with it. Got some valve stems coming in the mail for the rims. Enjoy the cell phone pictures!

Ferrari F642 1/43 scale

23 May 2014 - 08:48 AM

Just finished this big guy. Pretty fun build. Kit is made by Rosso. Took about 10 hours over the course of 3 days. Decals took about 2 hours of that time.

Best kit in the world! MPC Monkeemobile...........

19 May 2014 - 10:42 AM

NOT!!!!!!!

lol  I had wanted to build this kit for years but never wanted to spend the money on this silly car. Well our club's movie car challenge was extended for another month due to only 3 people getting something built. So with a whopping 3 weeks to build something i bought this thinking i could build something nice and quick.......what a mistake that was. The kit is pretty bad, lots of bad fitting parts and body parts being over 3/8 of an inch of even being close to not fitting! The chrome is thick and the mounting points are huge, just a really old mold with no repairs. Top notch stuff!! lol  The tires are aftermarket ones from AMT/ Round 2, they are nice and were the exact same ones that came in the kit but no printing on the kit tires. Just paint, embossing powder for the carpet, some BMF and some scale magzines and a do not touch card on the blower, total build time was 2 1/2 weeks. Enough talk, time for crappy cell phone pictures!!!!
