Testors 1/48 Nieuport 17 Help

25 March 2013 - 08:45 AM

Hi all,

A friend of mine has given me a partially assembled Testors Nieuport 17. I am in the process of building it and making it more accurate. One of my problems lies in the paint, as he sprayed it in his barn, on a cold day, with silver housepaint. I need a way to strip the less-than-stellar coat of paint off, without sanding. I don't really want to destroy whatever minimal detail there is by sanding. On a side note, this model is descended directly from a 1950s Hawk mold, and has molded on roundels. I have an aftermarket resin rotary engine, and a leftover cowling and top wing from the Eduard Nieuport to better detail it.

Please give me an answer in regards to the paint. I have tried Pine-Sol, and it hasn't worked.

Does anyone know what the "Custom V8" in the Revell '32 Ford 5 Window is?

I pretty much know it's a Hemi, but I need to know if it's a first generation Hemi or a second gen engine, because I am building a car inspired by the December 1955 Hot Rod cover car, and would prefer a period correct engine. Can someone help me on this?

1949 Chevrolet Grille

23 January 2013 - 02:04 PM

Hello,

This is my first post on the forum. My question is, does anyone make a resin 1949 Chevrolet grille to fit the AMT 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline? I am planning on replicating my grandfather's first car, and need the grille to make it complete.
