Another 32 Ford Coupe

13 January 2014 - 02:41 PM

Pulled this one off the shelf a few days ago.Mocked it up,looking for ideas.Seldom do I build to resemble the box art,but I like how it looks in this case.Going for a late fifties kinda drag look.Nothing too difficult. Will use the AMT Round 2 wide white pie crust slicks on the rear, wide whites on the front and the kit wheels all around although they should be skinnier on the front.I'll see what else I can find.Paint color will be red, maybe candy apple.Spark plug wires and a few minor details should do it.

I would like to try my hand at better detailing but I need more skill and patience. All in due time I guess.I will post more pics as this one progresses.

I'm already looking at one of three more 32's in my stash.Anyhow, thanks for looking, any comments are welcome.

P.S.The stash is nearing 200.I buy more than I build(bad habit).

"King" from "Cars"

Just thought I would post this very quick build. This kit is manufactured by Zvezda(Moscow,Russia),whom I've never heard of.It's a snap together,in 1/43 scale.Picked it up because I really enjoyed the movie and also am a fan of Richard Petty.Build time was about fifteen minutes!

1/32 Peterbilt 352 cabover

New member, new to the forum, this is my first post.I have been in a slump recently with a move to a new house, work, life, etc.Needed something to get the creative juices flowing again.I spotted this kit at the local hobby shop and figured why not.Yeah,it's just a snap kit but with a little detailing I think it turned out ok. I build only for myself and all my builds go on the shelf,no contests.

Anyhow this is a 1970's Peterbilt 352 COE.It's the Revell 1/32 snaptite kit.Exterior paint is $1.49 rattle can from the bargain store. It's called Ford medium cranberry metallic.Clear coat is Testors one coat.Decals are from the kit and spares box.A small amount of BMF was used also.Interior color is Tamiya light sand.First time I used flocking on the seats.A piece of satin for a blanket in the bunk and tissue paper for pillows.

I enjoy looking at other posters builds. They give me inspiration and ideas.Keep up the excellent work everyone.
