Q on Hudson steering linkage

14 April 2013 - 10:35 AM

I have attempted to modify the tie rod on the Hudson for posable steering. There is a piece in the middle that must swivel. Even though I had the engine in place, it popped free, so I removed the engine. I didn't have the block glued in well. Do you think the engine will trap that swivel in place if I glue the engine in?

Steel wool before priming

What is the best steel wool size for final scuffing before primer? I did all my seam sanding, I would like to use something that can get into every crease, fold, and bend.

Saw this in a Hallmark holiday ornament store display. Great backdrop item for that Ghostbusters Caddy.

Window tint

16 August 2012 - 09:12 AM

While wondering the isles at my other favorite toy store (Home Depot), I found some material to make tinted windows for model cars. It’s a waffle patterned clear smoke tint panel about 4’ by 8’, and costs over $20. Best bet is to go in on it with about 3 other guys, and to cut it in quarter sections.
There is just enough flat section in each “rib” for side and rear windows. I don’t think it is large enough for fastback windows; it’s not perfect. For standard coupes and sedans, it just may be the ticket.

My '77 for 7/7

Not new, I finished it a few years back. And... it's the Revell kit with pre-paint body. That freed me up to add detail, and actually finish it.
