for a brief moment i wanted to build an airplane for the Revell Gearz contest then i relized if i won it with a plane i would probably get all planes for thier one year of models prize they give out so the urge left me.
oh yeah occaisonally i want to build a model out of the box like i did when i was a kid... i tried to do just that twice this year and it was a big mistake both times so i went back to what i know best with slicing and dicing a model to bits and pieces before building it.

i like using baseball card storage boxes. just place the model in a clear plastic bag and cut foam to fit around the model. you'll have to take note about small parts that could easily get knocked off like mirrors & antennas when packing foam. the downside to this is only cars and pickups that are not jacked up will fit in these boxes.

So from what I'm reading and understand from this, you have to buy a kit from the revell website to enter this contest?
no. you can buy it from any retail store like hobbylobby or your local hobby shop. i don't know about ebay or other online shops. just make sure you get a receipt for your kit and save it .

like many who posted on here im not thrilled with the kits offered. i'll be out of my comfort zone with all but 3 of these kits but i am actually looking forward to this contest. this gives me a good reason to try something new be creative with my build.
