raised letters

11 June 2013 - 06:59 AM

I'm have a build that I've been working on here and there for a while and I decided to dig it out and work on it.  It is an Alfa Romeo and has "Alfa Romeo" in raised script on the valve covers.  I have already painted the engine, heads, etc but I was just wondering what some of the methods would be for painting the raised lettering?

Thanks in advance for any and all contributions.

I have included a picture of what I'm referring to...

Make your own "glass" fuel filter

24 April 2013 - 08:42 AM

Here's a quick and dirty How To on making your own glass fuel filters as shown in the picture below.

The materials needed are:  wire that you are using for fuel line ( i used red in the above example and in the how to), #0 crimp beads (the ones that I used are Beadalon brand that I got from Michaels), glass "tube" bead (i got them from michaels but don't remember the brand name), and glue ( i used superglue, but most glues should work)

step 1:  put the beads on the wire...crimp bead, tube bead, crimp bead.

step 2: glue first crimp bead on the wire would you want it to be, followed by glueing the tube bead, and finally the other crimp bead.

In the words of Porky Pig...That's all folks!
